Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club:
(long-time favourite course both for local and tourist golfers )
 

Designed by Dennis Griffiths, who is the same architect as Thai Country Club in Bangkok. Summit Green Valley Golf Course is one of the best kept in Chiang Mai. The course is situated in the lowlands, only a 20-minute drive from the centre of Chiangmai, Summit Green Valley manages to offer, beautiful surroundings, freshness of air, and various native landscaping unique to Northern Thailand. Plenty of well-maintained Palm Trees line the course, with nice views of the surrounding mountains. Green Valley is the second golf course owned by the Summit Group, the first being Summitt Windmill Bangkok. 

Summit Green Valley is difficult to par, especially from the back-Black tees at 7200 yards. The golf course features many of well-placed sand bunkers and lots of water that can come into play on nearly every hole. The palm tree lined fairways, seem wide, but golfers must take careful consideration of the water hazards, and bunkers are plentiful in the landing areas, making the fairways narrow and leaving no room for wayward shots. The greens are receptive to approach shots, and the putting speed is moderate to slightly fast. However, course length, numerous elevation changes, and prevailing wind makes Green Valley a tough but fair challenge to golfers of all skill levels.

The Golf Courses best hole is the 416-yard, par 4, 9th. You must carry the tee shot over the water, the to fairway, which has sand traps, both left and right at the landing area. The 2nd shot again is over water to an elevated island green encircled by big palm trees. 

The clubhouse provides full features and services. Polite, friendly and professional staff, with a well-stocked Pro Shop, dining & refreshment areas, locker room facilities, and massage services.

Summit Green Valley is a good choice for golfers of all levels in Chiangmai. Due to the convenient location near the airport and town centre. This golf course fits perfectly for those wanting to get in a game on the same day of their Chiang Mai arrival or departure.
